Dr. Calvin Hirsch

Dr. Calvin Hirsch is a well-known figure in the University of California, Davis community. Dr. Calvin Hirsch has devoted his life to assisting medical residents in caring for challenging patients on the inpatient medical service, as well as overseeing residents in the outpatient General Medicine Clinic and the Internal Medicine Geriatrics Clinic, both of which he headed for 30 years. Dr. Hirsch also served as the director of the U.C. Davis Geriatrics Clinic until its closing in 2021 during his tenure at the university. After the clinic closed, the Healthy Aging Initiative transformed it. The clinic was renovated following its closure as part of the Healthy Aging Initiative. Calvin Hirsch also directed the U.C. Davis Geriatrics Fellowship from 1990 until the early 2000s during his tenure at the university. Mr. Hirsch ended up spending the majority of his career at U.C. Davis.

As so, Davis, California, became a home for him. Dr. Calvin Hirsch has achieved numerous successes and distinctions throughout the course of his extensive career. Notably, from 2018 to 2021, Dr. Hirsch was named one of Sacramento's top doctors. While Dr. Calvin Hirsch will formally retire in July 2021, he has been summoned to continue clinical supervision and teaching at the University of California, Davis. Dr. Hirsch is the primary investigator of the Cardiovascular Health Study at the University of California, Davis. The National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute of the National Institutes of Health funds this initiative. Hirsch is undecided whether he will retire altogether or whether he will participate in future projects when the current one concludes. Dr. Hirsch, however, remains active in the community and at U.C.
